چکیده
ObjectiveArterial injury in knee trauma is rare but can be devastating if the diagnosis delayed. The frequency of concomitant arterial resulting from dislocations remains unclear, and fractures it unknown. primary aim was to investigate incidence requiring hospitalisation. Secondary aims were identify risk factors describe outcome.MethodsTraumatic popliteal artery identified by International Classification Diseases (ICD)-10 codes Swedish National Inpatient registry (NPR), 1998–2014 linked with data using unique personal identification number Registry for vascular surgery (Swedvasc). Risk (PAI) such as cause injury, comorbidities severity extracted NPR. Socio-economic status population count came Statistics Sweden, date death Cause Death Registry.ResultsA total 71 149 admissions due all identified, 359 simultaneous PAIs. Some those injuries non-orthopaedic. proportion PAI after dislocation ranged between 3.4% (46/1370 or multiligamentous injuries) 8.2% (46/564 dislocations), 0.2% fracture close (60/36 483). most common causes falls causing motor vehicle accidents (MVAs) fractures. fact that 46 occurring classified probably explained ICD are chosen retrospectively when patient leaves hospital.ConclusionPAI not uncommon, frequently caused a fall. associated mostly MVA, while low energy practically non-existent. Arterial outcome. Traumatic Registry. A hospital.

Popliteal artery injuries associated with fractures and dislocations about the knee.
The authors present the results of a retrospective review of popliteal artery injuries associated with fractures and dislocations about the knee. They treated 41 patients with popliteal artery injuries associated with either fractures about the knee or knee dislocations. Thirty-five of the patients were males, 6 females; the mean age was 23 years. The delay before accessing the hospital was 17 ...

In a chart review 31 traumatic knee dislocations were identified in 30 patients during an eight year period (1992-2000).Fifteen dislocations (48.4%) were posterior, seven anterior, eight occult and one medial.out of the five cases of vascular injuries three happened with posterior dislocations and in four patients associated ipsilateral limb injuries were present .the general incidence of simulta...

Patella: accounts for 1% of all fractures, most common in ages 20-50 Femoral condyles: these usually fracture when the knee is stressed. Tibial eminence: caused by accidents, such as a blow to the proximal tibia when the knee is flexed, or if the knee is hyperextended during an accident. Usually seen in patients aged 8-14. Tibial tuberosity: more common in men than in women, and in younger pati...

OBJECTIVE To determine the association of popliteal artery injury with simple knee dislocations or knee fracture dislocations, and to evaluate the role of clinical assessment and colour Doppler ultrasound examination in diagnosing these injuries. METHODS The prospective case series study was done at the Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi, and comprised patients with simple knee dislocations o...
متن کاملLigamentous knee injuries in amputees.
Combat-related musculoskeletal injuries occur commonly during military conflicts, as in Iraq and Afghanistan, and are caused by high-energy blasts. Ligamentous knee injuries resulting from these blasts are often associated with lower extremity fractures or traumatic, transtibial amputations. Ligamentous knee injuries in amputees are often difficult to diagnose for a variety of reasons, includin...
